SUBHANKAR HAZARIKA


Born in 1987 at Assam, Subhankar Hazarika epitomes the rich cultural heritage of age-old Vishnupur gherana of Indian classical music through his adept redition on sitar. Subhankar started his initial training in early childhood under his father Shri Hem Hazarika, renowned strarist of northeast India and mother Swapna Hazarika, both are senior disciple of Pandit Manilal Nag, the great Sitarist of Bishnupur Gharana. Later in the year 1998, Subhankar began his training under Pandit Manilal Nag at Kolkata. In the year 2005, Subhankar Hazarika had the fortune to be a general class scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy. Later in 2007, he became the qualified scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy trained under Pandit Manilal Nag. In the year 2001, Subhankar Hazarika was awarded A Grade from the Calcutta Cine Musician Association. He was the most youngest Sitarist to play in Cine Indastry. He has worked in numbers of film, tele-film and albums as a reputed artist in the commercial music. He is also a National scholarship holder from Ministry Of Culture( Government of India ) .
